I know its a pipe dream, but I have a "Rucker," and its a beautiful, severely overbuilt pack. The GR1 is, too. Their packs are made in America, and its a SF, veteran-owned company that also does training, but physical (pt events) and tactical). Very much in line with BB. Price point is a bit tough, but here's to dreaming....

Those are nice. I was thinking - I wonder if you could replace the frame sheet with a piece of ballistic panel like Armorcore or even one of those Readyman armor plates....even some Kevlar. I guess it all depends on the situation you are potentially exposing yourself to and the weight you want to carry - oh yea and your pricepoint......but those packs have the perfect spot for it. I imagine a rigid ballistic solution would be a little more uncomfortable than something like Kevlar.
